The Best Wineries in Willamette Valley
When you see the misty, rolling hills of the Willamette Valley with its patches of woodlands and snow-capped summits on the horizon, you’ll see why so many wineries here are dedicated to being responsible stewards of the land. A place this ethereal and captivating simply must be taken care of, for today and future generations.
As such, sustainability is deeply rooted in the winemaking culture here, even going back to the 1960s when Oregon’s founding vintners started laying the groundwork for its now-renowned vintages. So many wineries implement sustainability measures like organic or biodynamic farming, or waste and water management, that it’s practically the norm, not the exception. While the entire area falls under the umbrella of the Willamette Valley AVA, smaller sub-appellations can be found throughout — further testament to the region’s distinct terroir. Each tasting room here is also more beautiful than the last, with dazzling design and tastings that run the gamut from highly-curated, polished flights to casual chats and pours with the winemaker themselves.
